Abandoned Trains

I first saw these old abandoned beauties when the husband and I went looking for a wildfire nearby.  Unfortunately,  we were not able to get to the fire but I loved these trains and just needed to go back and take some photographs of them.

This color makes these photos look older than they really are and I love it!

Green/Boggs Family Portrait

This weekend I photographed the amazing family of my high school friend!
Six kids is always part of a recipe for great photos and much fun!
This photograph is my favorite!!  Being the only girl,  Maddy sure is mommy's little angel!

Port Elizabeth Fire Company Drill

Saturday I was blessed to spend the day photographing these hard working men and women.  This live burn drill brought me up close and personal with the heat!

Giraffes

I had the pleasure of capturing a photograph of the newest baby to Cape May Zoo.
I have been visiting this zoo for many years now and this was the very first time I have seen the giraffes this close!  This made for some very awesome pictures!

How can you look at this face and not smile?

Cape May Zoo: Rooster

This handsome rooster at the Cape May Zoo has become my new favorite of my collection of photographs!

I have always had a love hate relationship with roosters.
I remember when I was little living in Puerto Rico, my uncle had a rooster that
insisted on making my stay there as uncomfortable as possible.
Every single day, as soon as I walked out the front door, this rooster would chase me
until I found my way back inside!
I even once went running outside with a pillowcase around my legs to keep from getting
pecked!
Now, my kitchen is filled with roosters!
They remind me of my beautiful home town!
This one has taken me back to my childhood with his rich color.

Port Elizabeth Brotherhood

I am fortunate to say that our family belongs to this great brotherhood and sisterhood!!

Last week we lost a lifetime member of our company and I was honored when asked to photograph the Farewell Ceremony of Edward Davis.

This group of amazing firefighters are more than just volunteers they are family!

A firefighter's funeral is by far one to remember!

Clouds

It is April and that means this is the season of rain!  We have been hit with a couple good thunder storms in the past 24 hours and these are the clouds towards the end of the storm!  I love storm clouds!

Maurice River Bluffs

South Jersey is filled with little secret locations like this one, The Maurice River Bluffs.  It is a nature reserve right off the Maurice River with tons of trails.  I have been there twice and still have more to see!

I fully enjoyed the greenery!  Though there wasn't much the little peaks make it all worth it!  I cannot wait to visit again in July or August! I am sure it feels like a jungle!
Through our second trail we came across this beautiful building.  Not sure if it was a house at some point but it has definitely been though a lot.  There were posters posted to keep out and since I was with my little one I decided to set a good example and stayed away but I would have loved to get a closer look!

New Jersey Sunrise

The greatest thing about living in South New Jersey is being surrounded by water which gives us AMAZING sunrises and sunsets!  I cannot take credit for this picture though because it was taken by my husband-to-be James McBride.  He took this amazing sunrise photo after a long night fighting a fire nearby.

Photo of the Day: Jeremiah 31:3

There is nothing more amazing to me than adding God's beautiful words to my photographs.  This verse is one of my many favorites.
I have loved you with EVERLASTING love.  Jeremiah 31:3

Trip to Cohanzick Zoo

Perfect zoo for a little trip with the family! The Cohanzick Zoo may not be the biggest but when you need to get out and get some inspiration it will do.

I never thought I would call an Ostridge beautiful but this picture is stunning to me! It is a true reminder that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

This is the first and definitely not the last time you will see this awesome Tiger in my photos.  His color is just amazing and even more amazing are his eyes.  The clearest blue you will ever see.  I was not able to get a good shot this time because he was very active but I will continue visiting this one until I do.  I am sure by the end we will be good friends!

Anyone that knows me well will tell you that the Peacock is my all time favorite.  The mixture of blues and greens make me smile!  I LOVE IT! This little fella was showing off for the camera, letting us all see his beautiful feathers.

Photo of the Day: Smoke

This stunning photo was taken during a nearby controlled burn.  Love these two little trees alone in the middle of nowhere surrounded by smoke!

McBride Father/Son Fun: James & Eli

Introducing the McBride Boys!!!!
These two make my heart melt! A father and a son just couldn't get any closer than these two!  Hope they enjoyed their special day! Happy Birthday Dad McBride!

Firefighting is an important aspect in the life of these two.  That is why the photo shoot started at the Port Elizabeth Fire Department.  Being a volunteer firefighter himself for over 10 years, It is important to James McBride that his son knows how great it is to help others in our community. I am sure little Eli will grow up to be a great firefighter just like his daddy!

East Point Lighthouse is the final destination to this awesome day!  Eli enjoyed seeing the new scenery with his favorite person.  Exploring the water and being a little shy is what made the end of this shoot super special.

Photo of the Day: Army Love

Anything that has do to with the military makes me teary eyed after losing my nephew last year, an Army Sergeant.  These are a constant reminder that my son will always have a hero to look up to!
